Voice recorder questions

Is recording and downloading free?
Yes. Recording, listening and downloading your full audio are free and do not use transcription tasks. If you choose to transcribe, the existing allowance of 3 free tasks per day applies.
When is my recording uploaded?
Audio stays in this browser until you choose transcription. Recordings are saved in browser storage for recovery on this device. Browser storage can be cleared or evicted, so download audio you want to keep. Selecting transcription uploads the recording for processing.
What audio format will I download?
Choose MP3, WAV, M4A, AAC, OGG, FLAC or WebM when you download. MP3 is selected by default. You can also download the original recording format. Format conversion happens in your browser; your recording is not uploaded for download.
Can I pause or record on my phone?
You can pause and resume with a supported browser and microphone. Keep this page open while recording; locking your phone, switching apps or losing microphone access can interrupt capture. A recording can last up to 3 hours, subject to available device storage.
Can I turn the recording into text or Word?
Yes. Record at least 5 seconds, then choose Transcribe audio. Once the transcript is ready, open the task to review the text and use its export tools, including Word (DOCX).
